About KAMINARI GYOZA BAR

KAMINARI GYOZA BAR is a restaurant specializing in Utsunomiya Gyoza. At our hometown of Utsunomiya, one can find many gyoza restaurants that only serve gyoza. We have reduced the number of non-gyoza items to preserve that culture. Our desire for customers to purely experience delicious gyoza is the reason we make them daily. Gyoza are a nutritionally well-balanced mean filled with protein, carbohydrates, fats, and fiber. Not only are delicious; they are also a healthy superfood. Gyoza as your main dish. **We only offer take out and delivery.

KAMINARI GYOZA BAR is a shanghainese in Los Angeles, California. It is listed at 323 1st St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, which places it among the local businesses of Los Angeles that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Google also lists it under japanese restaurant, restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 am–8 pm. Note that it does not open on Wednesday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (213) 265-7351. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, linktr.ee.

Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 187 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded shanghainese & dumplings in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Los Angeles follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

A great spot in Little Tokyo that specializes in gyoza! I really enjoyed the food here and it’s at a good cost as well. The service is friendly and kind too. The dumpling soup was my favorite especially when the temperature drops at night. You get to choose your filling and can either get steamed or pan fried. The bento box is a great deal here too. Good spot for sharing food with friends!

2nd time visiting Kaminari Gyoza bar. Easily the best gyoza I've ever had outside and within Japan. They are presented exactly like the style you'd find at the best gyoza shops in Utsunomiya and the flavor and texture is outstanding. Including the traditional sauces that are on the table I get the yuzu kosho. I had also ordered the Takoyaki last time and can say it's top notch. This is a must stop for me when in or passing through Little Tokyo, even if for a quick gyoza appetizer order. Super friendly service as well. Highly recommended!

We came for an early dinner and were quickly offered options to sit at the communal bar or in the booth. The menu was simple but full of choices. It was hard to go past the Teishoku set menu for value. My Yaki steamed pan fried shrimp Gyozas were little pockets of flavour, tender inside and slightly crunchy outside. They were accompanied by fresh rice, pasta, spring roll, soup, edamame, a small veggie dish and appetisers. My friends enjoyed their pork Gyoza set. There was so much food we left sated. Fast and efficient service in an industrial, modern setting, this place is worth checking out for a quick bite and to hang out for a relaxed meal.

We loved everything about this place! We arrived around 5pm so were able to choose from the Happy Hour menu. We didn’t have any of the appetizers because we wanted to fill up on the gyoza. You can choose from pork, chicken (has lard), shrimp and vegan. We had the yaki pork, yaki shrimp and age chicken. Make your own dipping sauce - vinegar:shoyu ratio = 3:2 with optional chili oil. Finished everything off our plates. DELICIOUS!!!

Walking into Kaminari Gyoza Bar, I immediately felt wrapped in a warm, industrial-Japanese atmosphere that balances comfort with edge. The focus on gyoza is clear, and it pays offβ€”the dumplings arrive perfectly crisp on the bottom with juicy, flavorful fillings that feel carefully crafted rather than rushed. I loved how the menu keeps things concise, letting the quality of execution speak louder than sheer variety. The drinks pair effortlessly with the food, making it an easy spot to linger and enjoy the rhythm of the space. Service felt relaxed yet attentive, which matched the casual bar-style energy of the room. Overall, it’s the kind of place I’d return to specifically for cravings, not convenience. Kaminari feels intentional, cozy, and quietly confident in what it does best.
